Founding members John Strege and Paul Rogner organized the band at Concordia University Chicago in 1971 (with Craig Rutz) and the band has continued entertaining audiences, taking time out for meals and an occasional shower (Karen showers daily - we can't vouch for the others.). "Newer" members Karen Steltman-McBride and Jim Nier are well into their second decade with SYNOD. Newest member, drummer Randy Meyers, paid his musical dues in the thriving rock and roll scene of Detroit in the 60s and 70s, and has been playing ever since. Having lived through or just plain outlived the musical trends of four decades, SYNOD remains as strong as ever.
