Synod is a 5-piece rock band from Chicago. Founding members John Strege, Paul Rogner and Craig Rutz organized the band at Concordia University Chicago in 1971, and the band has continued to entertain audiences for 35 years, taking time out for meals and an occasional shower. Having lived-through or just plain outlived the musical trends of three and a half decades, SYNOD remains as strong as ever.
As anyone who has ever heard a truly great band can tell you, there is no substitute for live music. A great band gets people on their feet. These five musicians based in the Chicagoland area have proved that fact in 11 states and at hundreds and hundreds of shows. From the raw power of rock and roll to the thoughtful nuance of a love song, each individual adds an element to SYNOD's musical chemistry.
